About Benchelo

Updated: 2 Nov 2026

By Benchelo Editorial Team

Benchelo covers 3 categories: web hosting, website monitoring and website builders. Each category gets one hub page and researched comparisons built from vendor documents, pricing pages, changelogs and published benchmarks. We publish figures first. A price, a limit or a plan name appears only when a source page states it.

Who Benchelo is for

Our readers are small business owners, freelancers and site managers. Most run 1 to 10 sites. Most pick tools on cost per month, renewal price, limits and support terms, not on brand size. We write for that reader. Articles state the starting price, the term behind that price and the renewal figure when a vendor publishes one. Tables use the same columns on every comparison so a reader can scan 6 products in under 2 minutes.

What we cover

Web hosting coverage focuses on managed WordPress hosting, shared and cloud plans, PHP workers, object cache, storage limits, bandwidth limits and backup retention. Website monitoring coverage focuses on uptime checks, check intervals, status pages, subscriber limits and alert channels. Website builder coverage focuses on templates, forms, booking tools, galleries, storage, collaborator limits and the first plan that takes payments.

We do not cover no-code app builders or developer tools. Another site covers those topics, and mixing them in would blur the comparisons our readers ask for.

How we work

We reviewed and compared. We do not run our own product tests. Each article lists its sources with the date we checked them, and each price links to the vendor pricing page behind it. Picks follow the criteria and weights on our scoring page. Paid status never decides rank. Sponsored placements, when they run, carry the label "Sponsored" in the placement itself.

How we are funded

Benchelo is funded by sponsored placements and by reader support for the work of checking prices and limits on a set cycle. Sponsored placements are labelled "Sponsored". A sponsor can buy a labelled placement. A sponsor cannot buy a rank, a verdict or a score. Our disclosure page sets out the full funding rules in plain terms.

One-line verdict

Benchelo exists for 1 reason: to give a small team the numbers it needs to pick hosting, monitoring or a builder in one sitting, with every figure tied to a source it can check itself.
