Editorial Policy

Updated: 2 Nov 2026

By Benchelo Editorial Team

This page states how Benchelo chooses products, checks facts and fixes errors. It applies to all 3 categories: web hosting, website monitoring and website builders. It was last updated on 2 Nov 2026.

Independence

Editorial order is ours. Paid status never decides rank, inclusion or verdict. A vendor can be listed with no commercial link at all, and a paying sponsor can rank last in a comparison if the published figures put it last. No vendor sees a comparison before publication. No vendor gets a right of reply inside the article body, although any vendor can send corrections through our contact page and we assess each one on its evidence.

How picks are made

Each comparison starts with a long list of 10 to 20 tools drawn from vendor sites, public reviews and reader requests. We cut that list with published criteria: price, limits, the features named in the article angle and the terms in the pricing fine print. The scoring page gives the weights for each category, and they add to 100. The final list holds 5 to 8 products. Products we cut stay out for a stated reason, such as a missing feature, a price with no public page or a main use outside our scope.

Sources and checking

We research from vendor documents, pricing pages, changelogs, public reviews and published benchmarks. We reviewed and compared those sources. We do not run our own product tests, and we never present third-party benchmark data as our own test. Every price links to the vendor pricing page it came from, with the date we checked it. Money pages, meaning pages that carry prices or affiliate or sponsored links, are re-checked every 45 days. If a price changes between checks, the article keeps its check date visible so a reader can judge how fresh the figure is.

AI assistance statement

AI helps us draft. That is the full extent of its role. Human editors check every fact, price, limit and link against the source before publication, and an editor, not a tool, decides the final order and verdict. If an AI draft contains a figure with no source, the figure comes out. We state this here because readers should know how the words were produced.

Corrections

Errors go to our contact address with the article URL and the source that shows the correct figure. We check a correction claim within 5 working days. If the claim is right, we fix the page, change the modified date and note the fix in our records. If the claim is wrong, we reply with the source we relied on. Price changes are updates, not corrections, and they follow the 45 day re-check cycle.

No paid editorial ranks

There are no paid editorial ranks on Benchelo. Sponsored placements are labelled "Sponsored" and sit apart from rankings. Affiliate links, where they exist, carry the correct link marking and never change a rank.
